Appointments

Business hours are from 8.15am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (QLD time).

Your first visit

Patients attending their first visit are asked to arrive ten minutes earlier so that necessary records can be completed. The initial examination is an opportunity for patients to discuss their dental needs and desires. In order to offer you our best care, it is essential that a thorough mouth examination be conducted. This will involve physically and radio graphically (x-ray) examining the teeth, gums and soft tissues. At times, mouth impressions and photographs may be required.

We prefer our patients to be involved in treatment decision-making and encourage our patients understanding of planned procedures and the fees involved. For extensive treatment we provide a written treatment plan.

Emergencies

Dental emergencies receive priority treatment. Every effort is made to attend to emergencies as promptly and efficiently as possible.

Please telephone the office to advise the nature of the emergency before presenting for treatment.

Parking

Car parking is available at the rear of the surgery as well as on the street.

Fee and payment procedures

The practice policy is to discuss fees openly. Please be sure to obtain an estimate of the cost of any proposed treatment. Payment of accounts is expected at each visit. If you are having difficulty settling an account please contact us as soon as possible.

We accept cash, or credit cards. HICAPS and EFTPOS facilities are available. Third party financing is available.

Health insurance rebates

Our practice is not aligned with any health provider. It is our belief that no third party should have any influence whatsoever in treatment planning or the provision of treatment.

Please be aware that all health insurance companies are different and provide varying rebates on dental fees. It is worth remembering that only a portion of your fees is reimbursed by health insurance providers for the provision of dental services. We encourage our patients to take a long-term view and "self insure". If you wish to discuss this further please speak to Michaela or Ruth.

Veteran affairs

All dentists in this group are registered local Dental Officers with the Department of Veteran Affairs. Approved patients from any state of Australia can be treated.

The majority of services are completely free to the entitled veterans. However some high cost services require some private contribution. Examples of such services are crowns, bridges and implants.
